Go Out And Fail

Some of the most successful people in life were failures. Here are a list of them. Abraham Lincoln - Many a time have I heard people say they can't accomplish their goals and dreams because of fear of failure. Trying to reason with some of them, I may have told them the old saying: "Don't give up on your dreams". And it's true. If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place! Dreams are not a matter of chance, they are a matter of choice. But the choice is up to you. And if you are going to make the choice to accomplish your goal, you will be taking a chance at failure. As a matter of fact, you may have one failure after another until you finally get to the goal you've been striving to achieve. Think about this:

Failed a vice presidency. Yet he became among the most famous presidents in history.

Winston Churchill -

Was held back a grade in Elementary school. Yet he never gave up. He became successful!

Sigmund Freud - He was booed when he presented his first scientific presentation. That was in Europe. But he kept writing.

Albert Einstein -He could not talk until the age of 4-years-old, was illiterate until age 7. He was a 'C' average student and was told by his teachers that he was too slow mentally, unsociable, and daydreamed too much. He was also expelled from school and was rejected by the school. But eventually, he caught up on his skills and became one of the most brilliant men that ever lived.

Walt Disney -

He was fired by a newspaper editor for "Lack of creativity and imagination". He repeatedly went bankrupt, but that didn't stop him from building his dream for Disneyland. His idea for Disney was also rejected by the city of Anaheim because it was assumed that it would only attract useless riff raff. Walt Disney World is now one of the happiest places on earth!

Elvis Presley -

The manager of Grand Ole Opry fired him after one performance. He was told "You aren't going anywhere with that kind of performance, son. You might as well give up and go back to your driving job." Later he became a world famous solo artist!

Beethoven -Though he handled the violin very oddly, he preferred creating his own musical pieces. His teachers told him that he would never accomplish anything great with that. But later he composed 5 of the greatest most well known symphonies, all the while; completely deaf.

And They did not give up!

Go out and fail. One of the biggest hang ups many individuals have is facing their own fear of failure: fear of failing others, failing ourselves, failing a class, losing a job, making someone angry at them or disappointing others, getting trampled over. We fear failure so much that we often decide to do nothing instead of risking failure. But if you don't take chances in life, you'll never live up to your full potential (and you'll be a recipient of more and more crap in your life).

The best way to overcome a fear of failure is to tackle it head-on. Pick something you aren't any good at and go right out and do it in public. Sing, play the guitar, act in a play, invent something, make up a new dance, tell jokes with an open mic. Gain new experiences in your life. Then, try it with something you want to be good at. Fail the first time, fail the second time. Understand that you may have to fail a dozen times before you get something right.

For example: In the days before digital, photographers shot a million images. A few of them are wonderful. The rest typically bit the dust. Learning to fail with dignity is a part of succeeding and living with less unwanted junk in your life. But, there are always setbacks! How can we plunge through the obstacles?

Well... life is full of so many situations that will try to set you back from your goals, whether it was the time I got sick and had to go to the hospital to get a major surgery done to save my life, or whether my car breaking down and having to get a new one, or the situation where I lost my job and didn't know how I was going to pay my bills, or even things such as moving expenses from state to state. Whatever the case may be, whatever my situation is, I will NOT give up on my dreams! I'm going to stop at nothing until this dream is accomplished no matter what the obstacle!!

For those of you who want to know what life is all about, it goes like this: The world isn't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place, and I don't care how tough you are! It will beat you to your knees and keep you there if you let it! Life can hit you like nothing else can. But it isn't how hard you get hit! It's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward, and how much you can take, and keep moving forward! That's how goals are accomplished! If you know what you're worth, then get what you're worth! But you got to be willing to take the hit, and stop pointing fingers at situations or other people saying you ain't what you want to be because of him or her or any given situation! Only cowards do that, and that's not me!! I'm better than that!! And you're better than that! I'm going to keep writing songs. I'm working for this dream, and I believe in this dream. So who's with me?

Dreams are not a matter of chance, they are a matter of choice. you've got to work for it.
